serving on the swaaae board of directors

The Southwest Chapter of AAAE (SWAAAE) Board of Directors is made up of 13 total Directors: President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Immediate Past President, seven (7) Directors, and two (2) Corporate Directors. An Executive Director, a non-voting position, shall also serve in the capacity of Corporate Secretary of the Chapter. All members of the Board of Directors, with the exception of the two Corporate Directors and Executive Director, must be employed full-time by an airport or aviation authority.

The Executive Committee is made up of the President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Immediate Past President, and Executive Director.

No more than two members from the same region (California or Arizona/Nevada/Hawaii, known as "out"/outside of California) shall be permitted to rotate into, or occupy, the Presidential positions at the time of an election.

When are elections held?
Elections for the SWAAAE Board of Directors are held annually at the Chapter's Annual Summer Conference, which rotates throughout the region.

What are the different Director positions available?
Arizona: One (1) Director
Nevada: One (1) Director
Northern California*: Two (2) Directors
Southern California*: Two (2) Directors
At-Large**: One (1) Director
Corporate: Two (2) Directors

*The dividing line between Northern and Southern California regions shall be the southern boundaries of Monterey, Fresno, and Mono Counties.

**Represents all areas outside of California. No region requirement.

How long do Board members serve?
Each position is a two-year term. The Second Vice President is elected annually and automatically moves upward through the presidential positions (four years).
