Downtown Santa Rosa: Fourth Street in downtown Santa Rosa is lined with redwood trees and historic shop fronts, including one-of-a-kind stores, bars, cafés, restaurants ranging from Thai to Ethiopian, and Russian River Brewing. Courthouse Square is just around the corner from Fourth Street and offers antique shops, restaurants, and several Peanuts statues for photo ops at Depot Park.

With more than 425 wineries, Sonoma County has seemly endless options for wine lovers, ranging from small family-run wineries to internationally heralded wine houses. Sonoma County was named Wine Region of the Year by Wine Enthusiast in 2019 and is home to many world-renowned wineries, including Kendall-Jackson (12.9 miles from hotel), Dutton Estate Winery (15 miles from hotel), and Korbel (23.2 miles from hotel). Tours and tastings at wineries can often be booked in advance. Sonoma County Tourism also offers a tasting pass for purchase.

Cheese Trail: Sonoma County is home to almost 30 dairy farms and creameries. Depending on the property, you can reserve full tours or cheese tastings and then visit with the farm's goats, cows or sheep. Since the dairies are spread out, and oftentimes in remote areas, the best way to explore is to start with a good plan. A few creameries that offer tours or a public shop include Achadinha Cheese (13.9 miles from hotel), Bohemian Creamery (12.6 miles from hotel), and Marin French Cheese (20.7 miles from hotel).

Farm Trail: Sonoma County offers a number of sustainable agriculture experiences. Visitors can laugh at Schulz’s original comic strips, learn about the art of cartooning and Schulz’s role in its development, view a re-creation of Schulz’s art studio, watch animated Peanuts specials and documentaries in their Theater, draw your own cartoons in their hands-on Education Room, and more. The Redwood Empire Ice Arena, located next door to the museum, has been open for over 50 years and was constructed to have the feel of an Alpine village.

Safari West: Safari West is a 400-acre private wildlife preserve located 12 miles north of the city of Santa Rosa, owned and operated by Nancy and Peter Lang.

The selection of wildlife emphasizes species native to Africa, including giraffes, rhinoceros, cape buffalo, watusi cattle, antelope, cheetahs, zebras, hyenas, primates and numerous species of birds. The park engages in research, education, conservation, and breeding programs that, through exchanges with other zoos and parks, keep the gene pool healthy for the species that are involved in the program. The park is also home to species that are extinct in the wild.
