Interpersonal Dynamics Inventory
for Emerging Leaders
Presented by Dr. Eric Zackrison
This two-hour interactive virtual session uses the Interpersonal Dynamics Inventory (IDI) to help participants understand the roles they naturally take on teams and how those roles shape collaboration, communication, and influence.
The IDI measures aspects of our behavior rather than our intent. It allows us to increase our awareness of how our behavior impacts others, improve our ability to work with, lead, and influence others, and better understand the needs that motivate our own and others'interpersonal behavior. The Interpersonal Dynamics Inventory is a powerful consulting tool on par with the Emotional Intelligence Assessment and the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator.
IDI maps three collaborative driving forces in a specific work context:
- Affiliation (how we build connections)
- Directiveness (how we exert influence)
- Adaptability (how we balance focus on own/others needs)
Though you may know your intentions, in collaboration, colleagues judge you by direct experiences, observed actions, and shared interactions. IDI reveals your true workplace impact, bridging the gap between how you intend to show up and how colleagues actually experience you.
Prior to the workshop, each participant will complete the IDI assessment and receive a personalized report. During the session, we will unpack the results together, explore strengths and blind spots, and build practical strategies for working more effectively with peers, managers, and cross-functional partners.
This workshop is free for SWAAAE Young Professionals. Registration is limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
